A skeg repair is done to the lower unit gear case at the very bottom of gear
case housing. If a portion of the skeg is broken or completely removed a
new skeg can be welded back on. However this is a very costly process and
time consuming and must be done by a professional. If done correctly it can
be as good as the original manufacturer. The other way of repairing a skeg is
